introduction

Wern is a lovely old farmhouse set in more than 150 acres of countryside. We, the new owners, Bonny and Rupert Cunliffe, are very happy indeed to be able to share our home with others who want to enjoy a peaceful holiday in lovely surroundings.

The house itself dates back to approximately 1600 when it was built as a simple two up, two down with outside facilities!! Over the centuries, generations of farmers have added extra rooms (presumably to accommodate growing families) and the house now has 20 rooms and two staircases in all. The most recent addition is the Victorian style conservatory which was built in 1991.

Although the house is very old, the facilities offered are not. The two bedrooms have all the "comforts" of the present day, one with an en suite bathroom (with whirlpool bath), the second is on a private landing with a private bathroom with a shower and whirlpool bath. (If required, the second bedroom also has an adjoining twin room for children.) A choice of toiletries is also provided for guests. Each room is equipped with a colour television, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and a selection of books and magazines.

A traditional farmhouse breakfast is served in the conservatory, where guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Snowdonia range of mountains. The conservatory opens out into the lovely landscaped gardens. A perfect place for a stroll after breakfast, or to sit quietly by the pond. A summer house provides a comfortable shelter from the breeze and the opportunity to watch the wildlife in and around the pond from a 'discrete' distance.

For those who want a more active holiday, an all-weather tennis court provides ample opportunity for exercise, and games such as Boules and croquet are available on request. There is also plenty of room in the garden for football and cricket!!

Self Catering

We have a three bedroomed, fully equipped static caravan available for self-catering hire. It is situated in a private area with access to the tennis courts.
